In November 2019 I participated in a trip hosted by Holbrook Travel to experience some of the most beautiful birding hotspots in and around Quito Ecuador. Ecuador is South America's 4th smallest country but has the 4th largest bird bio-diversity! Over the course of 7 days we visited multiple critically important bird habitats from Amazon basin lowlands to Andean mountain pass at 14,000 feet. We met people who are using ecotourism, sustainable agriculture and science to preserve the habitats and the birds. In all we saw more than 330 bird species and some of the world's most beautiful landscapes. I encourage everyone to contact Holbrook and join a trip to Ecuador so you too can experience the incredible biodiversity, hospitality and Beaty of Ecuador. In the meantime enjoy the images on this page and the accompanying Ecuador pages.
