Guango Lodge & Drive to San Isidro

The Guango Lodge between the páramo and hot springs of Papallacta. We did a lot of our birding in the early morning hours, and thus some of the grainy images. We did this so we could take in the tremendous diversity of bird life with a one kilometer walk around the grounds. Along the river we had Torrent Duck and White-capped Dippers. At the feeders we had about 15 species of hummingbirds and then along the forest edge a multitude of passerines. This place is truly a paradise for hummingbird lovers and photographers. Great staff and meals but mind your head in the upstairs as the ceiling is low.
